Training your Dog
to be a
good driving companion

Patience and small journeys every day and |

NEVER leave your dog in a hot car. Do not leave your dog for too long. 1 hour is long enough |
Do not leave your dog without giving him chance to relieve himself, take the dog for exercise before leaving him as this will help him to settle down, a tired dog will sleep. |
Some dogs suffer anxiety when left for too long. They will try to chew their way out of the car. |
Why take your dog out with you to leave him in the car most of the day? Take your dog with you if you can, but at least exercise him first. |
Dogs can become very destressed when left even for short periods. Make sure you leave him water and a chew, this will help. | |
Leave him comfortably, e.g. a blanket or cushion. The backs of vans or cars can be very hard! |
